My grades are slipping again and I procrastinated doing actual homework during Sprink Break which was very stupid because I am not a very good situation right now. I have one week to finish a major research project and to finish reading that darn Pride & Predjudice book I began during the first week of school. So for the sake of my grades I am taking yet another hiatus from my blog to concentrate on my school work.

Sources are claiming that Lisa-Marie Presley is pregnant with her third child. She married Michael Lockwood back in January but rumors are speculating that the main reason why Lisa and Michael married so quickly was because Lisa found out she was pregnant. I wish Lisa the best and congratulate her for waiting to have a baby with Michael Lockwood and not Michael Jackson.

WTF Happened to Alec Baldwin?

When Ffleur first asked this question in the Tara post I began to wonder why Alec Baldwin had aged so fast and so bad. I had heard rumors that he was a raging alcholic and that he was very abusive toward Kim Basinger when they were married. So it could be just plain old karma getting back at him but who knows. One thing is for sure he does not look half as hot as he did when he was a little bit younger.

The Sopranos

This Sunday marks the new season of The Sopranos. I have only begun watching the show since last season but I was instantly hooked. Every episode is filled with intricate story lines, complicated characters and of course a good dose of sex and violence. Now The Sopranos are not for everyone but I think fans of The Sopranos really appreciate the gritty and intense drama this show brings every season. I don't know about you guys but on Sunday night I am going to unplug my phone and glue myself in front of the T.V. so I can watch the begining of the new season in peace.

N.V. has inspired me to open up a little bit more about my family life so here goes.

I was out of town this weekend visiting my dad. He is a recovering drug addict and has been in and out of our life for years. For the most part my mother thought it best to have as little contact with him as possible so she would do things like change the phone number everytime he found out what our current phone number was, tell people that knew my dad that he was not welcome in our home and one time when he showed up for a surprise visit we ended up moving out of our house.

Now I know my dad had problems and he wasn't the best role-model but he was our dad and he was a descent father. I have so many good memories of my dad that I began to get anger towards my mom for doing this. I was around 16 when I confronted her and demanded that she give me an adress or phone number where I could reach my dad at. She was reluctant but in the end she gave me a phone number.

I called and spoke to my dad's girlfriend and she told me that he was in rehab. I was really bummed out but she told me to call back in a week. I did but the phone number was no longer in service by then. And that was that.

Fast foward six years later (one month ago) I recieved a wierd phone call at home. It was my dad and ofcourse I was extatic to talk to him (I have always been a daddy's girl). Anyway he informed me that he has been clean and sober for over a year now and that he wanted me, my sister and younger brother to come visit him.

Needless to say my mother was not too thrilled about it, we even got in a big fight because she did not even want to let my younger brother go but eventually she caved in. However my older sister who was planning on going suddenly changed her mind at the last minute. I suspect it was my mother but I have no evidence.

All in all it was a great trip. My dad is getting his life back in order and things were so peaceful and serene all that weekend that I dreaded going home. I suspected a major fight with my mother or sister once I arrived and I was right. You see my mother and sister are alike. They are very passive-agressive and they won't tell me the real reason why they are mad. They will just blow up for any stupid reason and stay mad a whole day or even week.

Right now my mom is mad at me because I did not answer the phone when she called but I suspect she is really mad because of my dad. I even told her to grow up and let all her resentment towards my dad go but that just made things a lot worse. She'll get over it in about a week or so. Oh well at least I still have my dad.


P.S. I choose Van Gough's Starry Night because it is very peaceful painting and peace is what I am craving right now.

Michelle Williams

Michelle has really grown on me lately. I never really saw anything spectacular about her. She wasn't a brilliant actress or even that pretty. She was sort of on the plain side but she has really blossomed latly. She has proven that she can act and she has bagged herself a hottie. And just think she used to look like this !

This explosion was actually seen on Earth in the year 1054 A.D.
At the center of the picture is a rapidly spinning star which is emitting radiation 30times a second! The jet-like material is actually high-energy particles which are being blasted away from the star. I love this picture and the colors are truly brilliant.

The Worst Of The Oscar Fashions

God knows how much I love Dolly but she manages to make this dress look a little vulgar and too trashy for the Oscars.











I have to admit that Maggie Gyellenhaal looks better than I have seen her look in ages but that dress does not look very flattering on her. It sort of fits her wrong and the color does nothing for her beautiful eyes or complexion.









Jennifer Aniston always tries to play it safe by sticking to neutral colors but her fashion choices often come of looking a little boring. Thats how I can best discribe this dress; boring.

I am amazed that anyone would want to be seen in public with this horrible dress on. It l ooks like a bunch of torn up panty hoses pined together. Naomi just looks awkward with it on.

What the hell was Charlize thinking? This dress is straight out of the 80's and I am sure some women back then would have sense enough not to wear this awful concoction. The color is to harsh on Charlize's fair skin and the cut makes her looks a lot wider.

Diane Kruger looks so bad in this awful dress. There is nothing about it that I like. The white color washes her out and the ruffles look really silly and out of place.

Best Of The Oscar Fashions

I love how the color of this dress complements Selma skin tone. It also complements Selma's amazing clevage. She looked gorgeous as usual.











Jada Pinkette-Smith looks amazing in this beautiful dress. I love the cut and I love the color.











I love the color of Kiera Knightly's dress. The cut is very flattering on her but I think it would have looked better without the chunky necklace.











I think Ziyi Zhang looks classy in this dress. It's simple yet sexy and demure. It has a vintage look to it that I absolutely love.














Meryl Streep looks classy in this beautiful dress. I color is a little harsh on her fair skin tone but the cut and fit look amazing on her.

Here is hoping that the adorable Lisa Loeb will find true love (if not on her reality show in real life) get married and have a bunch of adorable babies soon!

Hobbits Existed?

I was out of town this whole weekend but I did manage to TIVO a program on the Discovery Channel entitled Hobbits. I only managed to watch a few minutes of this show before I accidentily erased it (I am such a spaz). But anyway I found an article about the miniture race of hobbits living in Indonesia some 18,000 years ago. It is really facinating article to read. It makes you wonder if Hobbits existed what else could have existed? I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Unicorn discovery soon.

Perfumes

My sister is an avid J-Lo fan, she buys anything with J-Lo name on it. These are amongst the three J-Lo perfumes she has in her collection. I decided it would be fun to try to fairly critique these perfumes. Even though I hate J-Lo, I love a good smelling perfume.

The first one I had the dishoner of smelling was J-Lo's, Glow. In a scale of 1-10 I give it a 1. It has a pungent, powdery smell. It sort of smells like Baby powder and raid mixed together. When I smell it my stomach gets upset.



The second perfume is Still, by J-Lo. This perfume actually smells really descent. In a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 6. It sort of smells like a strong, kind of musky, fresh-deoderant. It's not bad if you like strong-smelling perfumes.








And finally the last perfume is J-Lo's, Miami. I give it a 5 out of a scale of 1-10. It smells kind of sweet and spicy. Its not bad but I can't say I would ever wear it.

Number 1 Single

When I first heard Lisa had her own reality-show, I thought what a waste of talant. Lisa could be doing so many othert things besides wasting her time on a lame reality show. But then I actually sat down and watched an epesiode and I really liked it. Lisa a 30something year old single women is on a search to find her true love. The thing I liked about this show is that it does not have the cheesy and fake set-ups most reality shows do. Lisa really seems sincere and down to Earth. If you guys haven't already seen her show, I highly recomend you check it out. I think you will be pleasently surprised.

Witnessing a Dying Star

The universe never ceases to amaze me. Take for instance this picture. Located nearly six hundred light years away in the constallation Aquarius a star about the size of Earth is dying. See the white dot in the center of this picture, that is a white dwarf. It is spending its last days 'alive' spewing out gaseous material which will inevitably be recycled again to make a new baby star or protostar. Nothing ever gets wasted in the universe. I wish I could say the same thing about humans here on Earth.
