This explosion was actually seen on Earth in the year 1054 A.D.At the center of the picture is a rapidly spinning star which is emitting radiation 30times a second! The jet-like material is actually high-energy particles which are being blasted away from the star. I love this picture and the colors are truly brilliant.

Beautiful!..Ahhh, the mystery and the wonders of the universe....I think the very center of the image looks like a spinning top sideways...cool!
